Dylan Ebdus and Mingus Rude: one crossing the street to dodge a clump of kids from the projects, keeping his white face hidden in a jacket hood, the other hanging in loose gangs of black kids after school, then walking alone to Dean Street.

Instead they read comics, shoulders hunched to protect the flimsy covers, puzzling out the last dram, the last square inch of information, the credits, the letter page, the copyright, the Sea Monkey ads, the insult that made a man out of Mac.

He might be yoked low, bent over, hugged to someone’s hip then spun on release like a human top, legs buckling, crossing at the ankles.

Venice equals water. Water equals Gondola. Gondola equals boats. And boats equal racing or as the Venetians call it Regatta.

Venice is divided into six different parts a fact i didn’t know. They are Cannaregio, San Polo, Dorsoduro (including the Giudecca and Isola Sacca Fisola), Santa Croce, San Marco (including San Giorgio Maggiore) and Castello (including San Pietro di Castello and Sant’Elena). The Cannaregio canal is faces the Grand Canal. It was the main entrance to the city at one point.

When I think of Venice I think about the festivals, the sites and the transportation. My favorite out of the three types of transportation is the Gondola. I think of love. There is also water buses which sounds cool. Can u imagine a bus on water just going? The airport in Venice itself makes you think of the water, Marco Polo although he was a man. The festivals are two weeks long and this is what makes Venice fun. You never run out of things to do or sights to see. The Museums and Churches and buildings. Venice my is dream place and I hope to one day go there.

Both Chandler and Connelly’s writing was focused on the violence that happened in their city. Connelly, being a jouranlist and reporter got his break into writing his first novel, “The Black Echo.” This was a reflection on the crimes and he was reporting. Both their writings were based on life and others based on personal emotions. Like Chandler’s books, Michael’s books also won the Edgar Awards.

How does Michael see the world differently as a regular person and a writer/journalist/reporter?

Poetry expresses feelings and nothing at the same time. Poetry is most likely about love; feeling and wanting it. Smooth and Rough. It is the way someone express themselves through vulgarity, seriousness and tragedy. You can write a poem however you want. There are many different types of ways to write a poem. Depending on the feeling one can write a Stanza, Haiku, Free Verse, Ballad, Sonnet, Cinquain, Epic or Limerick. The most compelling ones are the Haiku and Free Verse. The Free Verse is not like a Stanza. It is writing, not having to rhyme, with no structure. When you write a Free Verse poem one writes not to be perfect or understanding but what is felt, confusing or not. It is almost like writing except it is a verse of a poem. A Haiku is structured non rhythmic poem. Three lines, 5, 7 and 5 syllables. not perfect and it could be about the sun.
